Junior Olympics

In April, the Juniors — ages of 8-16, from Rochester, Syracuse, Geneva, Buffalo and Canada will compete in Rochester, NY at the Baden St. Recreation Center.  The winners will then go to Regionals in Lake Placid, NY, where teams from all over NY, CT, and NJ will compete. The Winner and Runner Up from Regional’s will then go on to Nationals, which is held in Marquette, MI in the Olympic Training Facility.  Nationals are for one month where students will attend school and will be paid for per diem competing.

The Olympic coach will then pick teams to compete in the Junior World Championship where they will compete against 12 countries. We have two Juniors who have ranked Number One in the US — Brandon and Lavias Williams, that will have a chance to attend the World Championships.

Seniors

Seniors consist of ages 17-34. They begin the same as Junior Districts, with Regionals, then Nationals. Nationals will take place in Cincinnati, OH this year. The tournament lasts about a week, February 4 – 11th, where the winner will earn a spot in the Olympic Trial. If a competitor does not win the Nationals, he or she can compete in the Western or Eastern trials to try and make the Olympic qualifiers. Teams and coaches are responsible for their own transportation, room and board, and expenses. If he or she wins, he or she can compete in the Olympic Trials.  The Olympic Coach will pick a random Winner and Runner Up to join the Olympic Team from the ABF, the National Gloves, the Eastern Trials, the Western Trials, the Army, Navy, and/or the Marines.

Our coaches always volunteer their time, energy and dedication in helping our youth to achieve their goals.
